From Amaravati (the ancient town Amaravathi), Andhra Pradesh. Amaravati was the capital city for Satavahana (Andhra) kings. The Amaravathi Mahachaitya stupa was built here between the 2nd century BCE and the 3rd century CE; this pilaster may have come from the stupa, which featured a limestone railing.
