Description:
From Khajuraho, the site of numerous Shaiva, Vaishnava and Jaina temples in Chhatarpur District, Madhya Pradesh. The temples were built between the ca. 9th and 12th centuries when Khajuraho was an important center of the Chandella (Candella) dynasty. The name Skhalitavasana combines Skhalita, one of 108 dance movements (karanas) with Vāsanā, impressions of the past which are part of present consciousness.
