Description:
|
The museum was created during the lifetime of the artist, with the support of the Minister of Culture André Malraux, and inaugurated in 1973. This is one of the plates from the book (portfolio), Poèmes,1968 by Marc Chagall which featured 24 color woodcuts and poems and released in an edition of 226. The book dimensions are 39.5 x 30.5 cm. This print uses a background of aquatint (etching). The red boot is then superimposed as a crude woodcut, with the grain of the wood clearly visible.
