Description:
Pagani was born in the Marches and lived most of his life in the area, influenced by various Umbrian artists. In the 1520s he was influenced by the Venetian painting school, which he had known from Antonio Solario and Lorenzo Lotto. This painting was formerly in the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum. The scene has elaborate architecture, and unusually, figures who seem to witness the scene from a balcony. A woman and child are portrayed at the bottom center, also as witnesses and are related to the donor family.
