Work Notes:

This fountain was originally located in the large central niche of the water organ. (Coffin, 1960, 18-19) It was modeled after the Diana of Ephesus sculpture in the Farnese collection, which was a Roman Imperial copy of a Hellenistic sculpture. The original is now located in the Museo Nazionale, Naples (Inv. 6278). It was moved to its current location against the entrance wall around 1610.
