REMARKS COMPILED IN 1987 BY ROY HAMILTON ON BASIS OF EXISTING RECORDS, EXAMINATION OF OBJECT, AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE: Shirt; part of a ceremonial costume. Machine woven cotton shirt, appliqued with bands of silk at collar, neck opening, shoulder, sleeve seam, cuffs, and hem. Silk bands are decorated with couching and seqins. Dealer states that piece is 60-100 years old.
