Single panel balanced weave textile. Except for about 25 cm on each end, the textile is solid purple with scattered 8 point stars in metallic thread. The two end panels are embellished with silk and metallic supplementary weft. Near the ends of the textile are "X" like motifs in red, yellow and light blue (kuruang) caged motif. Towards the center are bamboo shoots and cornflower motifs, followed by the Bugi chain motif (big "X"'s formed by a series of small "x"'s). The fringe consists of a separate 1 cm strip, which is the full width of the cloth, and is woven of purple silk with metallic supplementary weft. This strip is sewn to the hemmed end of the textile. Then a fringe is added by crocheting a 0.5 cm of metallic lace, to which is added a row of plied silk. Ends of the metallic and silk are, in turn, plied and left 10 cm long to form the fringe. warp: Silk, Z twist, single ply, 76 threads per inch, purple. weftS: Silk, Z twist, single ply, 52 threads per inch. SECONDARY MATERIALS: metallic (gold leaf on paper) Z wrapped around a 3 ply pink silk core.
