Cuba - Province of Camaguey - Senado: Inside Central Senado (Senado sugar mill) showing the cane-crushing machinery which is the first step in the processing which will turn the cane into crude (brown) sugar. the cane can be seen in the right background coming down the chute to the crusher. Senado Central is owned by private Cuban capital and managed by Cubans. Its machinery is American-made and the central (sugar mill) is one of the cleanest and best kept of all Cuba's 161 "centrals". They are very proud of their central and justly so at Senado.
