Cuba - Province of Havana - San Antonio de las Vegas: Plowing up a cornfield to prepare it for planting on a farm in the south central part of Cuba between Havana on the north coast and Batabano on the south coast of the island. This is the farm of a middle-class farmer who is considered a successful operator. He keeps his fields in good condition rotating his crops. Except on the very few big estates machinery has not replaced the oxen nor the hand labor of the farmers. The steel plow has replaced the old wooden plow which is now only very rarely seen and then on some poor little piece of land. These two men working in the field are relatives of the farmer who work for him.
