Notes:
Cutting cane on a sugar plantation not many miles from the capitol city. Because of the cheapness of labor, they do not need to use the American method of burning over the field before cutting in order to rid the cane stalks of leaves and trash and thus save labor time. Also, they have no danger from snakes and other deadly pests which otherwise would have to be routed by fire before cutting. Near Ilopango, El Salvador, C.A.
