Cuba - Province of Camaguey - Senado: At the receiving entrance to Central Senado (Senado sugar mill) in the heart of the rich sugar producing country of Camaguey Province. Central Senado is some 35 miles northeast of the capital of the province, the city of Camaguey. As the freight car is tipped by machine leverage, the side swings out and the load of cane drops into the pit below. in the pit there is a belt line which carries the cane on into the crushing machines, the first step in the processing which turns the cane into crude (brown) sugar.
