Cuba - Province of Camaguey - Camaguey: A 'bohio" village on the edge of the important city in central Cuba which is capital of the Province of Camaguey, chief rail center of Cuba, and headquarters of the vast sugar and cattle industry of the province. Bohios are houses made of palm bark siding and high pitched roofs of palm fronds, built thus for protection against the tropical heat of the land. Nowadays, bohios often have clapboard of wooden sides with bohio roofs and sometimes the bohios where some of the working class of the busy city live, and these homes have electricity and other modern conveniences. From almost every one, you can hear radios going full blast.
