REMARKS BY ROY HAMILTON (1988): Sarong constructed of two panels sewn together. Purchased in a shop in Maumere, Flores, as an example of a type of cloth not otherwise represented in the museum's collection. "Kwatek" is the Lamaholot Language term for woman's sarong. This particular style of sarong is known as "kwatek mean". The shell ornaments are known as "kinga". A similar cloth is illustrated in Kartomi (1981:figure 7).
